Favorite Foto(s) Friday - Daddy & Me

I have talked about my awesome father many times on the blog. To Alli, he is the guy who teases her and makes her laugh.. who reminds her when all of the scary movies are on.... To Mario, he is the "keeper of the Puffs"... to us he is just the most fantastic dad/father-in-law ever...my kiddos are missing their Pap Pap while he has been in the hospital recovering from hip replacement. On Sarah's Blog, the theme for Favorite Foto Friday is Daddy & Me... what a perfect theme this week when All I have is MY dad on my mind!

My WONDERFUL Aunt Sandy (my mom's awesome sister) has driven 5 hours from the DC area to stay with my mother and drive her back and forth to the hospital wile my dad is recovering. Isn't family the best? I am just so thankful that she is selfless sitting up there with my mom. It certainly has taken much stress off of my mother with her buddy to talk to. I know that my mom is enjoying it since she rarely has Sandy all to herself... usually she is here shared with everyone during holidays which leaves them little time just to chat and be sisters. They sure have a special bond for which I know my mom is relived to have her by her side!

Thank you, Aunt Sandy, for ALWAYS knowing JUST what we need. You are a gift.

Today, he had a successful physical therapy session. He walked, which amazes me that you could have anything like that done and WALK the next day. He is hanging in there, especially with a very noisy lady next door who is in need of much attention. It is providing humor for the entire floor - particularly this afternoon when she was watching Jerry Springer LOUDLY on the TV!

Anyway, when I walked in to see my dad today, I noticed something peculiar.... his top lip was swollen to enormous proportions. He looked a bit like Dr. Duckbill Platypus from Mr. Rogers Neighborhood (which of course I told him immediately since my dad loves a good laugh). He will just be thrilled that I am telling you all this. Poor guy was just so drugged on Benadryl that he could not even talk to us. I am so hoping that he is MUCH better tomorrow with no complications.

PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM and his speedy recovery. He is looking forward to walking with no pain for a change!

I will keep updating the family on here since it is an easier way to communicate... for those blog-land buddies (and those visiting for the 1st time through Sarah's Blog), I will be back to posting pictures and such soon soon soon. In the meantime - please keep my dad (Jack, Sr.) in your thoughts and prayers! Thanks, All!
