I have been Tagged!

I have been tagged by Jenny ... as I have written before, Jenny is a cool chick -she is the girl you would LOVE to have live RIGHT NEXT DOOR - not really to borrow a cup of sugar, but to play dress up and go to an 80s themed prom...go over to her blog by clicking HERE and show her some LOVE!

After the weekend, and considering your last read here, I needed to give you some fluff... you know if you ask questions about me, you get LOTS of explanation (I was going to add little pics like Jenny, but I wrote so damn much, that I thought I would spare you), so here it goes:

I am passionate about these 8 things (in no particular order):

1. FAMILY - all of them. period.
2. ADOPTION - with my husband and I BOTH being adopted AND going through our own adoption process with Mario, how could we not be passionate about that?
3. EDUCATION - I have my degree in Secondary Ed with a specialization in English. Jeff has his as well with a specialization in Social Studies Plus a Masters Plus his degree in Educational Leadership (Administration)... we are education nerds. We love school in this house!
4. ENGLISH - really anything relating to it... grammar (although my grammar is not perfect, it makes me crazy to see signs be wrong, etc. When people use simple things like YOUR and YOU'RE incorrectly.. ahhh... I would never SAY anything, nor do I judge you, well, I suppose I secretly judge... sorry. hee hee), writing (oh, someday I shall write), reading (anything I can get my hands on... shampoo bottles, letters to the editor in magazines, Golf magazine at the doctor's office... whatever is there!).
5. my shitzu, Murry aka the Murrinator, Sir Murry McMurrison, Murrilicious, Captain Murrypants, MUUUUURRRRRSSSSS, Nelly Murtado (and SO MANY OTHERS)- we often sing to Murry just like we sing to Mario... when it is time to go outside, we sing "come on Murry, let's go Potty" to the tune of "Barbie Girl" and "Murrylicious" or randomly in the car we add shih tzu to ANY song... "I just want to fly... put you arms around a shih tzu, put yours arms around a shih tzu!" Let's face it, folks, we are weird, we are pathetic, but now you will try it, too!
6. TV - nope, not proud of it, but I just love it. I DO love reality tv, but have been known to watch marathons of Dawson's Creek, Party of 5 and so many more. I have forced my hubby to watch EVERY SINGLE episode of every season of the Real World. Why? I am ill. I have cried at season finales of Mad About You and Roseanne and bawled like a blubbering idiot. Dan dies at the end. have a heart, people!
7. KIDS - I work with Allison's activities and that is the reason why I do it. Adults can be morons, you all know what I am saying, but the kids just love what they are doing whether it is a sport, or a play... to be young again!
8. Health related things - I know, I know, the chubby chick says health... what I mean is, I am proactive with issues that effect my parents (heat issues, stroke, physical therapy)... Allie has allergies/asthma...mental health issues are important since they come into play in so many of our lives, so I like to research and just know. I am also a bit of a germaphobe! hee hee! I hate to be sick, so I often ask Jeff how he is feeling.

I want to do these 8 things before I die:

1. celebrate MANY anniversaries (Jeff's parents are on their 45th, mine just celebrated their 41st... a lot to live up to!)
2. spoil my grandchildren
3. plan elaborate weddings for my kids (with whatever elaborate means to them)
4. get over myself
5. right as many wrongs as I can in my life (I have started to make that turn, and it feels good... I am not all "My Name is Earl" with a list or anything, but there is a mental, "boy, I would like to fix this," and I am trying.)
6. Learn More: about religion/spirituality, flower arranging, photography, medicine, politics, making documentaries, football... just LEARN!
7. make a difference in my community
8. make a difference globally

I often am heard saying these 8 things:

1. All Riiiiiiggghhhhhttt-ahhhhh! (when I am irritated, I add the AH at the end, which drives my hubby and Allie CRAZY-AH! I tell them that this keeps me from smacking people - ah!)
2. per se
3. CLEARLY (like CLEARLY, they do not know what they are doing to you.)
4. seriously.
5. and my point is...
6. The bottom line is this...
7. NO! STOP!
8. Are you feeling okay? Did you say your stomach hurts? like throw up hurt or crampy hurt? Do you think that you are getting sick?

These are the last 8 things that I have read:

1. Driving With Dead People by Monica Holloway (good, not great a memoir)
2. Possible Side Effects by Augusten Burroughs (oh, so funny, thanks for the recommendation, Cameo!)
3. Naked by David Sedaris (funny!)
4. Allison's health novel about creating a good family exercise plan... ("repetitious and boring," says the London Times)
5. Cookie magazine (my mother must have got me the subscription... cute, about parenting... very NYC green, ya know?)
6. US News and World Report (gotta get my current events on - Jeff subscribes, so I read stuff to talk to him about... it makes him think that I am mysterious and worldly since he never has time to read it himself!)
7. Time (see above)
8. The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls (soooo good!)

These 8 movies I have seen more than 8 times:

1. Sleepless in Seattle.... oh, the joy of finding out what tiramitsu is...
2. Uptown Girls and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days : BOTH on tv constantly.... I just love them... "Molly Smiles".... "Bullshit!" ah, the power of romantic comedies!
3. The Notebook - if you have not seen it, go rent it... if you have and do not like it... you have no heart in there.... hee hee.
4. The Wedding Singer ... Jeff's favorite.. we are such 80s babies
5. Steel Magnolias & Fried Green Tomatoes... makes me wanna hop in the car and start driving to Julia's RIGHT NOW... I imagine her that way - a cross between all of those women, although I am sure that I am widely off base! :-) Holly, is she REALLY like that in person?
6. Bridges of Madison County - Jeff HATES this movie since he wonders WHY an affair is romantic... he is just not a chick... this is SO romantic and wonderful...I bought the cd and wish stores sold dresses like what Streep wore in that movie... Oh, I just love it.
7. Wizard of Oz - the power is within you
8. GOONIES - Chunk love Rocky Road.. the BEST 80s movie EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

******************************************************************************

Well, THAT was just wayyyy to much information about little old me.... I just lost readers, I am sure! hee hee!

Not that there is anything left, but I am following Lou's lead (whose blog is private) and telling you if there is any question left unanswered... any burning desire to know about me... even personal stuff (ooo, la-la), ask, and I shall answer in the comments below! This could be FUN. (although I do have the right to refuse to answer, right?)

I think that everyone and their mother has probably been tagged with this one, but in case you did not, LURKERS: I tag YOU... post a comment and let me know you read this and accepted the challenge!

I'm chuckling about "per se". That's something my writer Sissy would say.

I feel sooooo dumb next to you now. I HATED school, it was so boring to me and to go back would be a nightmare for me. Literally. I have nightmares that I'm back in school and I want so badly to quit. I'm such a TV addict too. I love my TV. Isn't Augusten just brillian? And I adore David Sedaris. I need to read all of his books in order though, I've only read Naked. Wizard of Oz fah-reeked me out. I seen it once (LOL, had to).

Okay, burning questions, hmmmm...... I'll need a minute on this one. I'll be back though!

Hey Jill... guess what... those peasants and associates got rid of this week on Real World! Yeah. I bet we haven't seen the end of him though.

I'm glad Joey is back but I feel sorry for him. I'm sure it sucks to be an alcoholic around all those drunk roommates.

Anyway... hope you're having a great weekend.

Jill-

to answer Jeff's question... Zac is from Alabama. His family is DIE HARD Crimson Tide Fans. His family (my in-laws) still live in Alabama. We try to get back as often as we can.

To tell you how big of BAMA fans we are...

1) We spend over $300 a year to watch abou 4 Bama football games on the college sports football cable TV station (we have to order them special here... and we can only get a few select games).

2) We have a whole room (we call it the Bama Room) dedicated to Bear Bryant and the Crimson Tide. Even the walls are painted Crimson red. We have thousands of dollars of Alabama Crimson Tide memorbilia displayed (I'll do a blog on it soon).

3) My son Bryant is named after the most famous Alabama football coach... Bear Bryant.

PS: The only reason Zac said he'd ever leave Alabama was for true love. Guess I was just lucky when he decided to marry me and move to Boise!

Roll Tide Roll!
