EDITED: Anatomy of a Lesko "Get-Away"

"We are ready to go, get in the car, mom!"
"my stupid cheek hurts (see below) - that bench came out from no where!"
"only I would make a child pose at a rest stop
freeeeeeeedom!!!!!!!!
Mo butt (for Kelly and Skylie!) iced tea for me - coffee for Jeff - we are good to go!
We are here.... when we first got inside, Mario would not look at any of us.... he just kept looking around.. so serious... it took him a while to take it all in...

Okay for those of you (Cherrie) who are making comments about my VERY white hubby - you will see that Alli and I are also anti-sun! Sun is baaaaad in our family! hee hee! I am the sunscreen Mama!
I know that I look kinda dorky here, but I hope that what translates in this pic is "I love him."
and he is thinking, "get off me"
proud papa
Alli taking Mo down the slides he could go on... she would take him down a few of "his slides" then Jeff and her would run up and do a few of the "big kid" slides!

he kept saying "more, more, more!"
my 3 love bugs
Alli coming out of one of the big slides
Daddy showing Mo the water
my alli girl

she is such a sweetie and had so much FUN

Mario doing the same thing he does at home... moves the curtains to look out the window
run run run run run....
we got a "kid's suite" which meant bunk beds for Alli... Allison has never slept in bunk beds, so we did this as a surprise to her.. she always says she thinks that they are cool... my brother had them when we were little (both in his room).. they are cool until he convinces you to use a cardboard box from the top as a slide... ouch! She really did like it though... she was chillin out here... texting, Peak Tea and the Real World...

she also brought this book to read and her I-Pod! You would have thought that we were gone for a week with how much we packed!

Anatomy of a Lesko "Get Away"

1. Plan entire trip for a few days that hubby has off of work in summer to an indoor waterpark 2 hours from here

2. prior to leaving, have daughter get a terrible summer cold

3. have son get cold from daughter

4. push trip 2 days in order to allow for "illness recovery" as not to have runny noses and crankiness on trip

5. call hotel to move dates

6. call kennel to move dates... pay extra fee since kennel is not open that day to drop off forcing the woman to open on her day off...

7. have husband think he may have broken his wrist doing god-knows-what and have to send him for x-ray day prior to trip

8. find out that x-ray is fine, although ligaments/tendons may be damaged

9. pack car to get ready to leave

10. on way to car, have son run into a bench in the entry-way and get bruised cheek

11. stop at parents house to see my "nurse" aunt who is there to have her check said cheek to determine it is okay to leave (it swelled and looked ugly, but then got better as the 2 hour trip progressed)

12. on way up have rock hit windshield creating a chip which will throughout the trip travel across windshield for several feet

13. Enjoy trip with husband who can barely move wrist and has now caught son and daughter's cold

14. return home to have entire windshield replaced and make doctor's appointment for husband's wrist

We just thought that most of these things were just funny... if you ever think, "these things only happen to us" here is proof that We suffer from the Murphy's Law a lot, too!

EDITED: If you are interested in seeing us at the same place last year without Mario, it is funny to read what a bad time I was having missing him and wanting him home... It is also funny to see how much Alli has changed in a year... click here to see!

The social worker was here today and all went well... anyone who has to do this, do you hate it as much as I do? I SO stress about it...she is very nice, it is just something that produces anxiety in me. I feel SUCH relief that it is over... only one more to go, then we are finished! At least the house is clean!

*********************

Football season starts tomorrow... can you believe it???? Sheesh, where is the summer going? Jeff and I are going to try to plan more fun things since times seems to be flying. Alli is helping to Asst. Coach for the Youth squad this year. It is her first year as a coach, so she is pretty excited. Her age group is 8-9 year olds... 22 of them! Good Luck, Alli Balli! This is my fisr year out of the past 6 that I will not be the advisor. I loved it but felt it was time to move on and focus my attention on my kids totally. I will help with camp all this week in the evenings, but that is about it... I wonder if I will miss it?

Now Dash is sitting on Top of the moniter...LOL

What a fun trip. And I love your music. It seems that lots of us Bloggers have been vacationing lately - We just got back from the beack. And got sick as soon as we got hoom. :-(

Peace and Hugs,
Becca

Oh, this trip sounds like how ours usually go! While I hate that you had to endure all of this, it is nice to know that the Salemi's are not alone!!
