A trip down Wedding Memory Lane....

We got married on 7/28/01
These pics are taken on my digital camera OF pictures from our wedding album... not so great quality wise, but I thought that it would be fun to post some old pics...We look MUCH younger... what in the hell happened to us in 7 years? Sheesh! Get the Botox out! lol! I would LOVE to see some of your wedding pictures... post em if ya got em!
Oh, and I know... I should have re-thought the bangs... it never happened again!
taken at our rehearsal dinner... it was casual at a country inn... great food, relaxed...
This is where Jeff proposed (on May 29, 1998 - we went on our first date April 7, 1998.... yeah, a little over a MONTH of dating!)... we got married here 3 years later... outside in the gazebo! The park is named after the same guy who designed this....
Yes, that is a replica of the Brooklyn Bridge! It is to the right of the gazebo. They put it up right before our wedding... odd... you can see the size of it with the picnic benches below it! funny. They are really proud of that guy in the town where we got married!
Just Hitched!
look at Alli... so little... so not as mouthy! hee hee! She was just beautiful!
Mother and Daughter
I just love this pic of Al... it was like 95 degrees with Pennsylvania humidity and bugs... the heather head wreath was pissing her off... she was so annoyed... but well behaved!
This was Jeff giving her the "family medallion" to commit to being her father... we had her name legally changed shortly after that...I am so the luckier one.
I think that I was a bit happy, would you agree? My face HURT from smiling... I am not a sappy person most of the time, but I loved this day... when we turned around to face the guests, I said, "That was so much fun, let's do it again!"
Our gigantic wedding party...it was like Steel Magnolias with "2 shades of pink, blush and bashful" lol! I always wanted pink bridesmaids when I was little! and lots of tulle... and fresh garden flowers... and a string quartet... I got them, too! My students (got married in the town where I taught 7th grade) who were in string orchestra came and played!
My brother, Jack, sil Vicki and nephew Zach... I cannot believe that he was that little... AND she has had 2 more kids since then! I was pregnant with Alli at their wedding!
Jeff's sister, Jenny - she has since gotten married!
Our family... with both of my grandmothers
my beautiful parents (who were celebrating that it was OVER, I am sure!)
Jeff's beautiful parents
Out of my scrapbook!

The reception... we had charms in our cake that the bridal party pulled to "see their fate"
I loved our cake that the 3 of us cut... it was done like 3 gifts stacked with a giant pink bow on top! And it was SO GOOD... white with raspberry and cream filling... YUM!
Instead of "tossing the bouquet and garter (did not even wear one!), we did a toy/candy" toss for the kids...(Robin, look at your boys there... so YOUNG!).. we also had all married couples come out and dance.. then started having them sit as to how long they were married... less than 10 years.. 20... until we got to the end and the people married the longest were my next door neighbors growing up! We presented them with the "toss bouquet!"

I put these in because I laugh every time we look at them in the album... and that is where these will stay... Good, Lord.. aren't they cheesy? I think that most of us have the hammy staged pics that are so NOT us.. when would we look lovingly at our HANDS?

Neither one of us could stop laughing here...I was tired, my dress was coming off of my shoulder, all of my make up was coming off, the candles even were saying: ENOUGH already! look at Jeff's boutonniere.. we named it ET since it just stuck out like ET's head!
Allison had so much fun since there were so many kids there to play with...after 15 BLUE lollipops, she was outside the hall laying under these lights.. funny what kids will find to play with!
you can see her blue mouth here as we are leaving after awesome fireworks!

a year later we were in NJ (wish I knew ya then, Holly!) for our first anniversary! We DID save the cake top... and it was not too bad! We carted it with us all the way from PA!

my wedding bouquet now lives in our dining room

Allison's flower basket is on top of my cabinet in my master bath...
and her head wreath and small bouquet lives on the wall in there, too!

Our wedding was beautiful... perfect for us... we had all of our family and friends there. I was happy that day.. and thought that I could never be as happy... then each year I am happier and happier.. yes, marriage is work, but I would not want to "punch the clock" with anyone else, no matter how much we irritate one another...I love him.. Alli loves him, which makes me love him more.. Mario loves him, which makes me love him more than I thought that I could... believe me, folks, it is SO not easy... we have had our challenges, but we have done our best to laugh our way through it.
Isn't there a saying about the "7 year itch?" Well, Jeff - DON'T SCRATCH! hee hee!

I love you, J. The kids and I are the luckier ones. Happy Anniversary.post signature

awwww..... I LOVE wedding photos!!!! And I liked your bangs! Well, at least at your reception dinner. One question: why did you only have them on half of your head? Seriously though, I really like them! I think you should think of having them again. I'll have to post some of mine or email them to you.

Darn... why do I always need Kleenex when I'm reading blogs. Yep, you have me crying here in Idaho!

The pictures are so sweet. I just can't get over how little Ali looks. Amazing how much 7 years will change a little girl :)

It looks like a super fun wedding and I'm so happy you found each other. YOu both seem perfect for each other.

This is our 7th anniversary coming up in September. I'll post my wedding pictures then. Just you wait... we got married in the mountains of Tennessee. Interesting :) but sooooo much fun!

Congratulations to both of you!
