Come on In!

This was a Super Busy week and weekend! The science fair was Friday, where Alli won first place in her weather science category! We are so PROUD! Then today was the home study. It went so well! We hope we pass, but cannot imagine how things could have gone more smoothly! The woman was so nice. She asked us a million questions for about an hour and a half, then did a quick walk-through. She made a joke that she was going to get her white glove out. I did that fake, nervous laugh, that obviously she has heard before. I was so nervous. Alli was nervous, too. She kept asking me to tell her what the lady was going to ask her, so I gave her some potential questions. The social worker started with Al, and asked her 3 things: how old she was, what grade she was in and what extra-curricular activities she was involved in. After that, she moved on to Jeff and I while Alli slowly put her head into my lap and fell asleep on the couch. She woke up to impress the woman when I got nervous on a question. I could not for the life of me remember how old my parents were. Allison rattled off their ages. The lady looked at her in such a funny way. We just explained that they were very close. The social worker commented on Allison's great behavior. She is such a great kid.

Both sets of grandparents are thrilled with the news. We told my parents over ice cream at King's after the science fair. We wrapped up a jar of baby food with the photos. My mom was in shock. They are trying hard to fight the urge to buy things already... I keep telling them to wait a while. We told Jeff's parents by sending them "It's a Boy!" flowers on Saturday morning. They do not have email at home, so I sent them to Jim at work. Jan had him drive in on his day off to print them because she could not wait! We have the best parents!

We are loving the comments and the name suggestions. Jeff is one tough cookie and cannot decide. I like everything. We will let you know. The one main question that I have been getting is why in the world they have a post it on the child! Well, these pictures are taken at his monthly doctors appointment by the doctor that works for the agency. He sends them to us directly. To keep the kids straight in the digital camera, I guess he puts their name on their belly. Every photo I have seen of the adoptive kids in Guatemala are taken this way. My dad thinks that he is going to be the next spokesperson for 3M.

Well, since I had a stranger in here today seeing everything, and some of my friends have not been in the house, I figured I would share some photos. It is small, but it is ours! It is filled with love! Enjoy. Here's to another exciting week to come!

Hey Jill,
I am glad everything went well. The house (and Alli) look great!!
I keep coming back and looking at the baby pictures. I get goose bumps every time!! I was thinking, maybe you could just call him "Stretch"...he has the longest little fingers, toes and legs...I am thinking 6'5"...maybe!!
NBA instead of NFL...LOL
Hugs and prayers,
Cherrie

Your house is so nice Jill! Love the little Alli Accent in the photos too. Glad it went well and wish you all the best in the world!! :) OH and I kinda favor the name Daniel - - or maybe Zakary or no wait, how about Bryan or even Brandon?? Hehehehe Seriously I have always loved the name TRENT for a boy or Christopher Trent.

I'm a little late commenting on this, but I had to say 2 things.

First, congratulations to Alli. She sounds like a great kid and will be a wonderful big sister.

Second, about your house. One of my most favorite phrases ever is " a small house will hold as much love as a big one." I live in small house that is oozing love and I suspect you are too.
