Our agency informed us that we have moved past our next hurdle. Like I had described in a previous post, we are waiting for Pre-Approval in order to get into PGN which is like the Attorney General's office in Guatemala. To gain Pre-Approval, a Guatemala social worker is assigned to our case to interview the birth mother, foster mother and see our son. They ask her questions about her willingness to relinquish rights and if she did this willingly. She showed up and completed the interview. This is GREAT news!!!!! Sometimes there are issues with this with birth mothers not showing or changing their minds. I am so relived that this second step is over (the first being Mario's birth mother originally signing him over when he was born).
The next step is to have the birth mother return for DNA testing to make sure that the baby is her child she is giving to us. Once that happens, and all is well, we will gain Pre-Approval.
This is all such a long process, but the longest step is the wait in PGN. Keep praying all goes quickly. We are impatiently waiting for the next set of photos. :-) Thanks again for all of your support!

Dear Jill, I learn so much each time I read your updates... It's almost difficult to believe all of the hurdles that are thrown your way in this adoption process...
It's wonderful to see that you're 2/3's of the way there.... Praying that all this will become faint memories as soon as your lil guy arrives !!!

You still have my prayers that everything continues to go smoothly, even if it is slowly. Also prayers of gratitude for Mario's birth mother doing the right thing.

What an adorable little boy. I know y'all can hardly wait to hold him. Thoughts and prayers are still coming your way and will continue until your son is in safe and secure in his new home.
Thanks to all of my mom's blogging friends! You ALL are too sweet!
