grillin and chillin

My dad is doing much better other than a chronic allergic reaction to God knows what. Visiting nurses are coming to the house along with at home physical therapy, so he is good to go. My Aunt Joyce has been WONDERFUL staying with my parents to make sure all is taken care of! Family/friends, you are welcome to call him at home or send them emails, etc. I will be updating less frequently, so feel free to contact him directly for updates now! Thanks for your concern!

Here are 2 pictures that my Aunt Sandy sent to me from her trip here! Mario is such a character!

"I have my container of Puffs and am ready to roll!"
"Pat-a -Cake.. oh, Aunt Sandy, you are sooo funny!"
I have to give a shout out to ALLISON ... she was such a HUGE help while my dad was in the hospital. She watched Mario for me a few times, and she did a great job! Thanks, Al! I could not be more proud of her. After the rain out, her playoff game is tonight - good luck - and pray for NO RAIN!
Mario has been getting up through the night a LOT! Any suggestions? He is napping the same amount, eating enough, all is the same, except he wakes up through the night yelling and crying for us. We go try to comfort him, but he only calms when he gets out and hangs with me for a while. He eventually goes back to sleep, but it is sometimes several hours later. Yes, he is STILL on that night-time bottle, so he tends to finish that bottle in the middle of the night. I think he is hungry, but is not eating more at night prior to bed- we try, believe me! I am not a happy camper. I do not do well with lack of sleep, so any suggestions will be appreciated!
Yesterday, we grilled outside for the first time. We seriously did not even use our grill last year! We did garlic-butter shrimp with fresh green beans and squash! It was great! I welcome new suggestions on what in the heck to do to make food well on there... feel free to send them. It was just nice to sit outside and not feel rushed. Alli and Mo ran all over the yard chasing this giant ball (you know those ones from Walmart?) until Jeff came to play... he was out there for about 3 seconds when he kicked the ball into a tree and it burst. It was hilarious. The adults always ruin the fun, huh? lol! Alli jumped on the trampoline... right after supper. I would have puked for sure. Not her!
I got a chance to order some bows from Holly's bow shop (see my sidebar to the RIGHT) and am so excited to see how they turn out. No, they are not for ME, but it is so exciting to feel like a designer on that site. They will go to a little special someone when I get them! I can't wait to see her open them!
I will get to posting pics of Alli's party soon. It has been chaotic here, but things are getting more scheduled. I just hope to catch up on everyone else's blogs! How do you ladies do it? Whew!

I'm very glad to hear that your dad has such great care. That is such a blessing.

You baby boy is adorable. I just love his great big eyes!

I tend to hate giving advice, as I don't like to appear to be a know it all....

I can't remember that age very well, but Vali is about that age. She is still teething, could that be a problem? Maybe lactose intolerant? Asa is. He gets such terrible tummy aches with milk.

RECIPE IDEA: I LOVE to grill salmon on the grill. Keep the skin on, put the fish on tin foil, COVER it with thin sliced lemon and some butter. YUM. My previous boss would top it with mayo instead of butter. Wrap it up in the foil and grill for about 15 minutes. I like my fish pretty done, so you could cook less. When done, the fish just lifts up from the skin and keeps if from burning.

There, I'm a know it all! LOL

Oh , I almost forgot, on the salmon...I season with a brown suger rub, or cajun rub with the butter and lemon.
