hips, fastpitch, cherries and porches...

Wow, what a difference a few days make... my dad is certainly making great STRIDES - pun intended - after his hip replacement. He is a golfer, so he is pretty happy part of him is titanium! PT and OTherapy came today, which tired him out, but he did well!

I went over and spent the evening there sitting on the porch in the WONDERFUL weather we had. Alli had her playoff game an hour away, so Jeff took her while Mo and I visited. Alli's team WON 4-3! Gooooooooooo FAS! They play the same place, the same time tomorrow night. Jeff's parents drove down to see her play! It is so fun to have the extra cheerleaders, and it meant so much to Alli to have them there. I was happy to since I felt badly about not attending. I was glad to spend the time with my parents just chatting on the porch. I am such a porch person, yet built a house with no porch... go figure! Nothing says summer like softball, porch-sitting and fruit.... With all of the fruit farms in the Erie area, Jeff's parents have their pick - LITERALLY on their road. His mom picks cherries for us and for my parents... specifically my mom who eats herself sick on them! She will be so happy to get the massive amount of cherries that Jeff brought home from the game! Any ideas on some good fresh cherry recipes?

Mario was a riot and just ran himself silly up and down the ramp to the porch. He loves to shove things down the slats in the deck... he takes the leaves off of my moms plants, picks them off, then shoves them down there... the funny thing is when he looks for what he put down there with his butt completely in the air like a duck. We just crack up. I suppose it won't be too funny when he puts something down there we don't want him to...

Off to bed... hope the little man stays asleep through the night!

I'm so glad to hear your dad is recovering quickly!

I can totally visualize Mario's butt in the air while putting things down the slats. Such a boy thing...

Now I know why I haven't heard from "mom" in awhile!!! She didn't even HINT to me this was going on!! Please please tell them both we love them and if they need anything to just let me know. Of course I can't do too much being a little over 2 hours away but I can be there even if it's just in thoughts or a lending ear! I love you all - and tell "mom" I miss her!!

Girlie, it was nice talking to you the other night. Nothing like gabbing to a good friend. So glad we "met" and I hope Mario is sleeping for you.
