Dad Update: #2

Scroll Down for Update 1...

I just got back from the hospital. Dad is out of recovery and in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) due to him having a pacemaker/defibrillator - not due to complications. I only saw him for a short time, but he was already joking with the nurses and saying he wanted a ride home. His blood pressure was normal and all seemed fine. The surgery itself went well, so he currently has 2 new hips! I informed him that this is it - no more surgeries since he has run out of hips to replace! lol!

He had yet to use his pain medication (through iv drip), but we are hopeful that he will have no allergic or violent reactions to either the pain meds or antibiotics like the last time. They are aware of the difficulty he had and hopefully will be able to avoid that. Of course, The Jeanerini (my superb mom) will keep a close eye on every single thing they do! :-)

I may update again this evening after I talk with my mom, so keep checking back if you want the stats!

(By the way, I do have to ask myself WHAT in the WORLD was I thinking that I was going to be a nurse when I started college... LORD... there is no way I could do that... I got the heebies from BREATHING the air in that hospital. I SO would have a panic attack if a real-life sick person touched me! lol. Just thought that I would share.)
